    John,

      I admire your persistence. I know you have been researching this a long time. My grandfather immigrated to Dunmore, too, through Ellis Island. I believed all my other relatives did as well. Was surprised to see several came through Baltimore.   I have long held that I had the passenger list of his ship. Now I am thnking it was another Michael Pochanics around the same age, close village whose info I thought was my grandfathers.  Years later, its frustrating to need to go back and look deeper.

    My main objective is to find port of entry docs for my Grandfather, Michael Sansky. Still no luck after tracking down countless arrivals and years of arrivals. Still trying. :-)

    1. Find out what street address she was going to, who she was going to stay with and their relationship to her.   By 1912 the manifests contained a lot of information.  It's all there.   Her village name was probably written in Hungarian, correct?   

    2. The Scranton/Dunmore street directories could help with that too.   Those can be found on Ancestry.com.   Go through a public library to get free access.

    3. Using stevemorse.org, look up all people who immigrated from your village, let's say from 1908 to 1914.  Write down all the information about all of them.   Make sure you search on all variants of the village name.   

    Glad to see you are trying all possible (and impossible) spellings of her name and her village. 

    I am confident most o f what you need is there in the records.

    Thank you for all the time and effort on these resources. I am following up on all of them,      

    I do have a ship manifest for my Paternal grandmother Maria and her oldest daughter, Olena. It also mentions a Michael but I cannot understand the writing or transcription.
