I am researching the Sambron, Slovakia GC church records.
Two surnames I am looking at are Szeglya and Szedlak/Sedlak.
There are several times when the names seem to overlap in a family.
Example: birth record uses Szeglya and death record uses Szedlak.
Example: majority of birth records in the same family have the Szeglya spelling but others are spelled Szedlak.
Are these the same name with spelling variations or language cases ?
Could it be a Hungarian vs Latin issue?
I've considered a handwriting issue but there are too many occurences and the handwriting is relatively good.
Also what is the Cyrillic spelling of both of these names?
Thanks for your help.
