Hello, Charles!

Back in September, 1975, my wife and I were in Florida on our honeymoon. We went to St. Vladimir's in Miami for Sunday Liturgy. We talked with the deacon, Fr. Raphael Penzenik after the service. His father was the Fr. Penzenik mentioned in that newspaper clipping. He mentioned the church in Nicholson

At that time I was finishing up my studies at St. Tikhon's Seminary. We lived not far from Nicholson. I remember once going to Nicholson and trying to find some trace of it. I stopped at the public library. Not only had the librarian never heard of it, but she obligingly telephoned some town historian and he had never heard of it.

Since that conversation with Deacon Raphael, I have heard of anything about that church until reading your post.

I came across the attached clipping from 1935. I believe that I'm related to the George Velichkanich mentioned in the article.

I've contacted the county and they don't have any records of this organization.

Has anyone come across this church in the course of your research?
