SMOLIGA = 752; SZMOLIGA = 399; SMALIGO = 333.

Membership is free. Site is run by the LDS (Mormon) Church.

You can search GEDmatch.com and FamilySearch.org using your family FIRST NAMES as well as their SURNAMES to find potential relatives and/or records.

You may also find new relatives previously unknown.

GEDmatch.com accepts DNA tests and GEDCOM (family trees) from all companies like Ancestry, 23&Me, My Heritage, etc. Membership is free with email registration. My DNA kit number is A875569.

GEDmatch search on GEDCOM yielded the following:
SMOLIGA has 21 entries and SZMOLIGA has only 5. Most from Slovakia.
SMALIGO has 6 entries. Details are hidden - probably living people.

SMOLIGA surname on forebears.io shows only 388 persons with that surname worldwide. Highest number in Poland 263 followed by USA 52, Slovakia 38, France 23, Czechia 11 and one each in Switzerland and South Korea.

It is documented that our surname, Smaligo, had been changed from Smoliga. Is it possible that the original spelling would have been Szmoliga?
